7 dream updates for the new iPhone

Apple has churned out more than 1 billion iPhones over the past 10 years. And the features have changed distractedly since the smartphone made it’s debut. As for what new innovations Tim Cook will announce for the eighth generation iPhone during tomorrow’s big press conference? We haven’t a clue, but we do have a few ideas for what we’d like for the newest Apple product. Here they are:

Unbreakable

It’s estimated that about 30% of people in the US have a phone with a cracked screen, so why hasn’t Apple given the world an iPhone that just doesn’t break? Well, they’re (kind of) trying. The iPhone 8 is rumored to sport a stainless steel frame, but the glass body inside could give you more than just a screen to crack. At least a glass back won’t scratch as easy as the aluminum ones on the iPhone 7 did.

Snorkel-Worthy

Does Apple plan on making its own washing machine-proof phone? They might. The iPhone 8 has been rumoured to be waterproof (better than water resistant), making it a viable option to snap some underwater pics during a late-summer ocean adventure.

Holographic Screen

Can you imagine the Snapchats with a Star Wars-Style display on your cell phone? Unfortunately, we’re probably not there yet, but the new iPhone a flexible OLED screen that covers almost the entire front of the screen is rumored. That should also mean no more broken home buttons, which is a win.

Affordable

Between a tumultuous economy and student loan payments, no consumer is keen on paying more for their next cell phone. Unfortunately for us, the next iPhone is rumored to be the most expensive one yet, with some sources claiming it will cost a whopping $1500. Thankfully, most predict it’s not going to cost that much, but it’s still likely going to cost more than older iPhones.

Actually Have a Headphones Jack

Even the most zealous of Apple fanboys have agreed that getting rid of the 3.5mm headphones jack was a nuisance. So will Apple rescind their latest “innovation,” or will they double down and continue forcing us to live with the inconvenience? Well, it’s time to put on your disappointment pants because there are no 3.5mm headphone jacks spotted in the future, although you will be able to charge your iPhone and listen to music at the same time by using its wireless charging feature.

Customizable Supercomputer

We know the new iPhone is going to be powerful, but will it be able to fulfill your every technology-related need? This one is kind of up in the air, although its facial recognition is supposedly getting a major boost. It’s said the phone won’t lock as long as your face is still in view, so you won’t have to punch in your code all the time when your phone locks up anymore.

Something Unkown

Could the phone bend around your wrist to be worn like a Pip-Boy? Will it be able to drive your car for you? Can it filter out every over cycled news article you’re tired of seeing? Only time will tell, so hunker down with us at WestwoodWestwood and we’ll find out come September 12th.
