Rineke Dijkstra is a Dutch photographer that created a complex body of work during the 1990s. She explored various lighting techniques, like a daytime studio set up on a beach, to produce her own style or portraiture. The lack of contextual details in her photographs allows the viewer to focus on how Rineke made her subjects feel as well as a deep insight into the relationship between voyeur and the viewed.
