Chefs are creeps too, streetwear aprons, Night + Market cookbook event, cute tote bags...

Every week Buttermilk shares news, recipes, op-eds, memes, and everything in between, all food related and curated by us.

Mario Batali is cancelled, Ken Friedman investor and longtime business partner of beloved brit April Bloomfield is too, their brand new “Hearth & Hound” will probably be a lot easier to get a res now. I mean, eater.com has a section now called “Sexual Misconduct” for god’s sake.

A last minute gift idea for the streetwear bro in your family who likes to BBQ, this Hedley & Bennett apron collaboration, but I prefer the OG streetwear apron from Dickies for 8 bucks.

Recipes back in the day used to be fucked up, here’s a tumblr worthy collection of old celeb recipes like Cher’s Hawaiian style meatballs.

Learn more about one of my top 10 favorite foods Tahdig, the crispy but somehow not burnt rice at the bottom of the pot, a Persian delicacy. I’ve tried to make it at home a few times and have never come close, maybe this story on can help.

Kris from LA’s fav’ restaurant Night + Market will be talking about his new cookbook with Garret Snyder at Chinatown’s Now Serving, there will be wine snacks, and standing room only. Buy a last minute gift, also I’m hosting it 😉 RSVP: hello@nowservingla.com

Speaking of last minute gifts, T-shirt queen, Deer Dana, made some farmers market tote bags with a cute lil veggie face on them, plus a portion of the proceeds go to the Rikers Island Greenhouse, available now.

The very in depth docu-series A Bite Of China is streaming on Amazon Prime currently. It’s strictly for people who really want to dive deeper into Chinese cooking and culture, from making their own salt, to then rub on ham to cure their own charcuterie in a remote mountainside, all kinds of wild shit. Binge away, pot recommended.

I’m always skeptical about the cross section of weed and food but this one seems kind of nice. A low dose of THC & CBD in chocolate form, with the addition of Amazonian herbs meant to enhance the sexual experience from aphrodisiacal chocolatier 1906. They’ve even got the “Off White” Helvetica-ass branding down too.
