ATM - J. COLE

J. Cole’s new single gets Busta Rhymes-style acid trip visuals. Frenetic, colorful and surreal, the ATM video features a slew of memorable visuals, including Cole wearing a black leather straight jacket in a room padded with cash.

A$AP FOREVER - A$AP ROCKY

The A$AP Forever video takes the classic rapper-on-a-car-with-his-crew trope and flips it on its head, quite literally. Fancy camerawork, a blink and you’ll miss its Mob cameo, and Rocky’s innate magnetism makes this infinitely re-watchable.

SHADE OF BLUE - KELSEY LU

These dreamy new visuals for Kelsey Lu’s “Shade of Blue” will speak to anyone who appreciated the art direction and styling of “Cranes in the Sky.” It’s got a little spoken word, ethereal, twangy melodies ringing out over shots of Lu digging in the mud, serious fashion moments (an impossibly ruffled orange dress, blue eyebrows, sculptural braids), and artful composition: what more could you want?

THIS IS AMERICA - CHILDISH GAMBINO

More ink has been spilled over Childish Gambino’s new music video than, possibly, the entire rest of his catalogue combined. We don’t want to add more: just watch it if you haven’t already.

WALK IT TALK IT - MIGOS FEAT. DRAKE

The anachronicity of Migos performing “Walk It Talk It” in pastel suits and ruffled blouses on a Soul Train-style show is a gimmick that should wear out quick, but it proves compulsively watchable to the bitter end. We attribute this to Jamie Foxx’s commitment to his host role, the Migos’ goodnatured goofiness, and Drake with a Jheri curl.

AFTER THE STORM - KALI UCHIS

Kali Uchis’ beguiling “After The Storm” gets the bold, nostalgic treatment it deserves. Uchis rocks monochromatic fits and bedroom eyes in a series of colorful, wonderfully subversive tableaus. Tyler, The Creator (who cameos as a patch of lawn come to life) has left a clear aesthetic fingerprint on the visuals, but Uchis brings them to life.
