BY : OLIVIA LOPEZ

tuck in, chill out.

Ever since the international travel circuit shifted its gaze towards Downtown Los Angeles, the new crop of hotel offerings which have opened in DTLA have missed a key opportunity with the local community. While The Ace and NoMad boast a roster of big-names and national brand recognition, for the Los Angeleno – these hotels are geared for optics and visitors rather than the neighborhood itself.

When local restaurateur Chef Juan Pablo Torre opened up DTLA’s Tuck Hotel, he did it with both the discerning traveller and downtowner in mind. Located on Spring Street – on the intersection of the Historic Core and Fashion District – Tuck is a perfectly-positioned outpost, situated between some of the area’s most frequented local haunts.

With a menu that combines Spanish and South American influences – here, food is the focal point of any stay or visit. Try the tiradito or croquettes alongside cavas and tempranillos.
