It’s always the holiday seasons that gets the best from our late nights, binge eating, and celebratory champagne-consumption. It seems although come Thanksgiving time, we then celebrate friendsgiving , then you’re company’s holiday parties, then your holiday parties, then the actual holidays, and boom, just like that, it’s the 31st and the clock is ticking down and everyone’s belting Auld Lang Syne. From swanky soirees to the after-hour parties until the sunrise, here’s a few things you want to check out before the ball drop.
Nosaj Thing, Dam Funk, & Machinedrum – LA
A couple of LA’s finest producers will be hosting an extended evening full of dance, house, and funk tunes. In support, Sounds of Sisters & Unlock the House, who we got to DJ with at last year’s WestwoodWestwood week, will also be throwing it down until 4am.
Vodka by Saintwoods NYE Houseparty – Montreal
Known for their celebrity filled get-downs over at APT 200, the folks over at Saintwoods, who also now run a Vodka line, are hosting their own celebration to bring in the new decade.
NYE with Mia Carucci, Brian Vidal, Wavy Baby, and Alexander Spit
Held at Chinatown’s General Lee’s, this roof will have some of LA’s best selectors. Expect to hear a little bit of everything; from house to baile, moombahton, rap, and of course their specially crafted cocktails.
Discwoman NYE: Ciel, Shyboi, Umfang – NY
Since 2014 Discwoman has been an antidote towards the male-dominant DJ’s and crews in the scene. Celebrate on their home turf with some dance-inducing, BPM running techno & house tunes.
All That Glitters at the Virgin – San Francisco
The Hyphy movement in the Bay Area is still very much alive and well since we lost Mac Dre. Thankfully, the Virgin SF is keeping this alive for their year end soiree. Disco devils come on out to boogie and enjoy the views from the hotel’s rooftop dance floor.
