Rimowa Hosts A Dream-Team Dinner for NBA All-Star Weekend
The sport of Basketball has been reaching into the veins of pop culture more and more everyday. With the sneakers, video games, the fits we see the players are dressed down in as they make their way to the locker room, you don’t necessarily need to be a basketball fan to appreciate or notice what’s going on and off the court. Look at Kobe; the presence he filled the world as an athlete and personality, it’s virtually known that almost everybody will turn their head when they hear the name. If you’re in the US and a part of a major city, let alone a larger city anywhere, chances are you somewhat affiliate yourself to the hoops.
With All-Star weekend just wrapped up, there were countless of events, activations, and pop-ups throughout Chi-town. It’s like another rendition Miami Art Basel, but except for art the core is Basketball. This past weekend, Virgil announced his Off-White & Jordan collab, StockX teamed with big time labels to produce limited Chicago-inspired garments, Franchise hosted their Momentum gallery, the list goes on.
We got to hang out with Rimowa where the brand hosted an intimate dinner at Le Colonial in Chicago in celebration of the weekend for friends of the brand that are both local to Chicago and visiting for the festivities.
The intimate dinner included a mix of industry leaders, visionaries, entrepreneurs and artists including: Kristen Crawley (founder of KNC Beauty & wife to Don C), Brian Woo (celebrity tattoo artist), Josh Luber (co-founder of StockX), Azeeza Khan (fashion designer & founder of Azeeza), Nigel Holt (musician), Martin Lotti (VP of design at Nike on the Jordan team), Arden Fanning (writer at VOGUE), Angelo Baque (Founder of Awake), and Melody Ehsani (fashion designer).
