2018 WW Holiday Gift Guide

PAINTINGS AND WORDS BY : BRYNN WALLNER

This holiday season, we asked a few of our favorite people to share a few of their favorite things. You’re welcome to use the below as a last minute gift guide, or look at it simply as a small sliver into who these people are. You can tell a lot about a person by what they really want to give or get.

01. SUSAN ALEXANDRA, JEWELRY & HANDBAG DESIGNER / NYC

The Merry Bag by Susan Alexandra - $295

“The Merry Bag, named after my mother, (yes, her name is Merry and she very much is) sparkles ceaselessly and is such a good conversation starter for those awkward holiday parties where you know no one. Also, it’s a waterproof bag so if a drunkard spills prosecco on you, it’s not a big deal.”

@susanalexandra

02. JASON STEWART, FOODFLUENCER & DJ / LA

Food Storage Containers on Amazon - $17.95

“Known as ‘deli cups’ in the restaurant world, they’re a cheap and easy way to make your foodie friends feel more professional in the kitchen. They’re equally great for a mother-in-law gag present, and perfect for when you bring food to a dinner party but plan on getting too drunk to remember your Tupperware at the end.”

@themjeans

03. NAOMI FRY, WRITER AT THE NEW YORKER / NYC

The Moonflower Lamp by Ohad Meromi at Meromi Studio - $600

“This is a full-disclosure type of gift suggestion: this holiday season I recommend you buy an incredible lamp from one of the most stylish and talented men I know, my husband Ohad Meromi. Made by hand in his Brooklyn studio, it’s a totally chic choice! Check out a couple of different models on his site at Meromi Studio.”

@frynaomifry

04. CHRIS BLACK, WRITER & CONSULTANT / NYC

Leather-Trimmed Snake-Effect Leather Boots by Dries Van Noten - $1,100

“I try to keep my look very understated, muted tones, simple fabrics, etc. But these Dries Van Noten Leather-Trimmed Snake-Effect Leather Boots speak to me. Loud footwear would only complement my simple pants and shirts. They lean a little ‘rocker’ – but, look, I am confident I could pull them off.”

@donetodeathprojects

05. CHRISTOPHER CHANG, DEADBEAT / LA

Bud Vase by Heath Ceramics - $25

“I like to give very personal gifts usually, so something involving a hyper-specific shared joke or interest between myself and the receiver, or a framed photo of their child, etc. If I need to gift someone that I don’t share anything particularly intimate with, I like to go with a Heath Bud Vase. I think it’s always something I would want to receive, and I just find it to be such a simple, beautiful object. Also bonus points because Heath is from California and extra bonus points because the Norton Simon Museum is completely clad in Heath tiles!”

@negnance

06. SHELBY SELLS, SEXOLOGIST (NEW YORK CITY)

Rabbit Vibrator by PALOQUETH on Amazon - $28.99

“Every girl needs a rabbit. A stimulated g-spot gives you a natural glow.”

@sweaterpupz

07. MARTA FREEDMAN, CREATIVE CONSULTANT & CO-FOUNDER OF NICE PAPER / NYC

Y7 x Nice Paper After Flow CBD Bath Soak on Y7-Studio - $18.00

“I’m really excited to gift the two new products from Nice Paper’s collaboration with Y7 Studio. We created a 250mg CBD-infused muscle balm (with help from our friends at Weed Sport!) and 50mg CBD bath soak for post-workout relaxation and pain relief. They really work and smell amazing!”

@marta

08. MANNY404, HACKER / NYC

EMISSARY Blue Light Blocking Computer Glasses by Gunnar - $79.00

“As screens become more and more prevalent in our daily lives these are crucial for our physical health. Combine these with Night Mode for the complete look.”

@mannynotfound

09. EMILY OBERG, CREATIVE CONSULTANT (LOS ANGELES)

Marianne Coat by Harmony - $410

“The perfect camel coat from Harmony. I believe in investing in pieces you can wear for years and years and this is exactly that. It instantly pulls together any outfit and is perfect for chilly days.”

@emilyoberg

10. DANA PAOLUCCI, BEAUTY PUBLICIST / NYC

Medium Jelly Hoops by Alison Lou - $145

“I’ve been eyeing these adorable Alison Lou Loucite Jelly hoops for a few months now. A playful departure from the more traditional gold hoops I wear daily, I’ll definitely be picking a nude pair up for myself this holiday season, but may have to gift a few pairs, too.”

@danadunn

11. BRANDON WARDELL, COMEDIAN / LA

Martini Bear Wool Sweater by Polo Ralph Lauren - $398

“All I want for Christmas this year is any sort of rare Polo Bear items. Been on a real Polo Bear kick lately.”

@bswardell

12. JIMMY KLOOTE, ARCHITECTURE STUDENT (BERKELEY)

A Library Card Price varies, Your local library

“I’ve personally been pretty stoked on my library card lately: it gives me access to a tool library too, which I’ve used a ton (I built a table in my backyard and strung up lights in my bedroom).”

@juicy_jimmy

13. BRITTNEY SCOTT, ARTIST / LA

All About Love by Bell Hooks -$14.39

“I’m anti-consumerism; but if you’re going to spend money, spend it on books. Everyone should read Bell Hooks’ All About Love.”

@brittneyscott

14. MATT HWANG, CREATIVE CONSULTANT / LA

A small dog and health insurance

“I want a small dog because it can be created into an influencer. I want health insurance so I don’t die.”

@matthwang
