Sunlit Sounds for Daylight Savings – A WW Playlist

WORDS BY: SYLVIO MARTINS

It seems like the law of the land has always been to get your 8 hours of sleep, or at least that’s what we’ve been told. If you’re one of the lucky few who can accomplish such a feat, or maybe just a mastermind when it comes to managing your sleep schedule, we commend you. However, most of us have yet to crack the code. We find ourselves balancing work, meals, social calendars, errands, phone calls with Mom, and maybe even the occasional “Me time” here and there before we get the necessary sleep we need. If that sounds more like you, glad to see you thriving, or maybe just surviving, on your nightly 6 hours.

Without trying to make matters worse, we often forget to factor in the effects of Daylight Saving as well. Yes, this questionably outdated practice gifts us an extra hour of sleep each Fall, but that doesn’t stop us from huffing and puffing when we’re forced to turn back our clocks. We here at the dFm are here to quell your fears, simmer your temper, and even find the silver-lining when you smack that snooze button this weekend by compensating you for the lost sleep. We present to you our Sunlit Sounds playlist.

We hope these tunes can uplift your spirits this Sunday during your groggy crawl out of bed, but most importantly remind you that the Sun is shining a little longer from now on. Even if your skies are still gloomy and gray on this March afternoon, we wanted to send some springtime sun your way. Our upbeat mix of indie rock, soul, oldies, and reggae was carefully curated to get even the sleepiest grump onto the brighter side of things. Get out there, take a walk, grab a coffee, or maybe even stay indoors if you like. You have an extra hour in the Sun anyways.
